Attributes are characteristics of your contacts. System Attributes are Smartech-defined attributes and Custom Attributes are the ones that you can define.
Steps to create custom attribute in the panel:
1) Login to the panel
2) Click on Data -> Contacts -> Attributes
3) Click on Create New Attribute
4) Fill in the required details as below:
a) In the Attribute name Textbox enter the attribute name as it is present in your column header of your CSV file.
b) From the Data type drop down select the appropriate data type. Example AGE is integer, NAME is textline, etc.
c) From Map to drop down you can map it to any of the system attributes.
d) In the Default Value Textbox, you can enter the value if the attribute has no value defined, the value you provide here as default, will be displayed in the personalized email.
5) Click on Save and the attribute gets created and appears in the attribute grid view.
NOTE:
Attribute name cannot have -(dash) or space, only _ (underscore) special character is allowed. DATE attribute is already used by the system internally, hence even if created with DATE it will not allow to upload the CSV. So here DATE_1 or DATE1 can be used while creating the attribute.
