We raised the above observation to SRE.
Solution:
Timed-out issues in vertica,mongo and redis end were found and added retry logic for 5 iterations for each iteration of its second which is dynamic (where i <5 ), if vertica connection is established or not. If established only then proceed with the query else return an empty response by logging the error and sending ops genie and slack alerts. config changes in smartech.
